My English Cottage Garden dreams really started to take root here…👇🏻🌿✨

Two years ago I tackled one of the biggest problem spots in our backyard. Overgrown, uninspired & begging for pretty much anything. The end goal is layered height & width and I planted with intention to achieve it—with movement, texture, and blooms & foliage from Spring through Fall. I extended an existing gravel path, added willow edging and worked to disguise the AC & generator fence.

It took some serious labor, but the rewards were apparent just a couple months after planting. 3 seasons later & it’s surprisingly low maintenance and full of charm with David Austin garden roses, Bolero + Pretty Polly minis roses, 3 types of peonies, catmint (a star player), lavender, and fall clematis.

A new indoor/outdoor runner just landed in the kitchen—thanks to lots of cooking, foot traffic, and 15 year old Bruno 😜🐾 It’s affordable (2’3” x 14’ size was under $50!) surprisingly soft, and adds my requisite fun pop of color & pattern. Also! Did my first flower CSA cutting of the season 🌼 I transferred the blooms into temporary vases to get them out of the bucket and into fresh water…arrangements coming next! #farmhousedialfano #mstarrdesign #layeredhome #perfectlyimperfectliving
