the promise of warm weather combined with every waking hour at home has me ready to give max her first outdoor playhouse! of course i made the mistake of pulling up some pictures when she was in the room and she was like a moth to a flame, immediately running over to ask “what’s that?” and “i want that one”. i’ve seen some really beautiful makeovers, some with minimal effort and some with herculean effort that i probably don’t have the patience for.
i ended up ordering this one from wayfair which is made of weather-resistant cedar, has good “bones” for a makeover, and is a good price point! it’s on the smaller side and while we technically have plenty of room for something bigger, this feels like a good size to start with. maybe if it goes well, we’ll upgrade her to a double decker down the road, ha. i have some thoughts on what i want to update and add…everything from adding a sconce, painting the sides, adding flooring, and of course decorating with lots of flowers!

what do you think? should i go white? black for a modern twist? a color?

01 / this market playhouse was a top contender. i’d maybe spray paint the yellow bins + swap out the turquoise fabric but the rest is lovely!

09 / this is the modern style that molly {almost makes perfect} used for her break-the-internet makeover. it’s out of stock until may but often gets restocked more quickly than that.

11 / love how this one has a built in bench for optimal pretend serving.
