Heat wave: over. 🥵 Patio project: back on! ✨Now that temps have dropped, we can finally get our steppingstone patio finished! Designing with a 9-year-old is an adventure—with plenty of opinions and personality (by us both) in the mix! I’m admittedly grateful that Max still lets me take the reins while showcasing her evolving style & she chose many new pieces herself using birthday gift cards. Layers upon layers upon layers…⁣

Our dining nook has been a pain point for me over the years, never quite feeling right. But I feel like I’m finally on the right track after several recent updates including more texture, mismatched (but coordinated) patterns and warm, comforting colors. From a new mix of pillows to one of my custom lampshades in a French fabric), this space is starting to feel more like the inviting corner I always envisioned. Still a few things left on the punch list, but we’re getting there… one detail at a time. ✨⁣ #mstarrdesign #farmhousedialfano

Room by room, layer by layer, she’s come a long way! Always evolving but that’s the beauty of a lived-in home…it should grow & adapt with you. Lived-in design isn’t exclusive to interiors…

I’d been searching for the perfect patio seating pretty much since we moved in 4 years ago. Nothing ever felt quite right for its location—either too bulky, too low, or just not the vibe.

But I finally found it! This set brings a warm, rustic elegance to the patio—think English garden meets relaxed European charm. The sectional offers plenty of seating and the ottomans pull triple duty as freestanding seating, a place to stretch out, or as side tables.

I love the contrast of the dark wicker against the softness of the garden, and the open weave keeps it feeling delicate and breezy. I did swap the cushions for a lighter tone that better suits my cottage garden vision (though I kept the originals on the ottomans) and used all throw pillows instead of the back cushions for a more layered, bespoke feel.

It’s everything I’ve wanted & looks right at home in the backyard, don’t you think??
